Sunday Morning Action in Melbourne

Saturday afternoon, Candy and the gang went for a power walk along the beach.  SEE MAP (Click on Beach Walk, Seminole Beach)  I’m still recovering from an attack on nose, throat and chest… and making progress.

We woke up this morning – Candy reports that most of the night she experienced mild contractions… so the business of the morning is yet another power walk.

 Stay tuned!

Melbourne, Florida – First two days.

Still on hold!  We’re waiting for labor to begin.

We arrived early Wednesday morning; the red-eye was uneventful.  Candy and Jamie left a car (Jennifer’s) in a parking lot for us with keys and instructions at the front desk.  Shortly after landing and picking up our bags, we were on our way, GPS guiding us along.  I just about fell asleep at the wheel.

Even so, we arrived safe and sound.  It was my first visit to the Morgan Court residence in Melbourne.  The Ostranders have a terrific new home; ready to welcome their newest – any day now.

Jennifer, Marsha and Robin welcomed us with dinner and a party… sent us off for desert at the Melting Pot with CnJ to celebrate our big birthday… a milestone year for Carolyn and me.

Candy visited the doctor today.  She’s been one centimeter for about five days… no more progress toward delivery.  But she is ready.  Big time.

Check out the beautiful sites… more to come.  SLIDE SHOW.  This was a walk along Melbourne Beach on the Island across Indian River.  MAP

Stay tuned.  Breaking news will be posted as it happens.

Thanks from us all for the love, support and prayers.

PS  My (Ken’s) sore throat turned into no voice.  So I’m whispering… and posting to the blog.

Christmas Day in Yorba Linda

Well, the family who was able, gathered at Mom’s for Christmas Day.  A feast and a grand re-union.  Check out the SLIDE SHOW

Here’s Mom’s post-event reflection, shared via e-mail tonight.  I’m reading it at the Las Vegas International Airport while waiting for a connecting flight to Orlando.

Dear, Sweet Family,

It is 10:30p.m. and I have just the warmest, most thankful feelings in my heart for ALL of you!

Today was SUCH A BLESSING!!!! You just have no idea, how VERY MUCH you have “touched” my life….each one of you…I thank our dear Lord for you!

The sweetness of gatherings of family and their joy in seeing one another…embracing….the grandchildren, actually hugging tight another cousin….it was such a heartwarming thing for me….I burst with thanksgiving, honestly I do!!!

I have loved picking up…washing some dishes…putting some cookies in the freezer…rehearsing conversations..I am indeed blest!

This Christmas has blest me beyond my expectations…it has! You all have done exceedingly,
abundantly MORE than could be expected!!! Everyone pitched in with SUCH A HEART….I am more thankful than you can possibly know, for a sweet day together.

THANK YOU, ONE AND ALL, FOR YOUR PART IN THIS DELICIOUS DAY! KNOW that I am grateful and go to bed tonight, quite contented! ;-)

Lotsa love,
Mom/Gram/GG

Merry Christmas!

We’re thinking of all of you today… grateful for the many notes and cards and newsletters from the people we love.

Carolyn and I are on an “off year.”  That means our California kids will be with the “in-laws” on Christmas Day.  So we celebrated early – Saturday and Sunday.  We are blessed beyond measure – five terrific grandchildren, with two more on the way.

SLIDE SHOW with SOUND

Take a look.  You may also enjoy some thoughts expressed in my Christmas LeaderFOCUS.

Tuesday evening, we board the airplane for Melbourne, Florida for a little more than a week.  Our hope is that Candy will deliver their new little girl, due December 31.  It’s more than a hope for a tax deduction.  Little Noah is eager to welcome a little sister.  You can guess there will be reports and photos to come on the BLOG.  Stay tuned.

May your Christmas Day be filled with joy and wonder as we celebrate the Word who became flesh and made a home with us.

Our love to you all!

Ken and Carolyn

Candy’s Dilated!

As we approach the Christmas weekend, we’ve heard that Candy’s delivery process is in the works.  She’s dilated one centimeter.

On Tuesday, Christmas Day, we board an all-night flight for Orlando.  Candy tells us she’s already begun to dilate – so I trust we’ll be there for the delivery of our new little grand-daughter.

We’re getting ready for Christmas.  We are scheduled to enjoy Sunday with the Duncans (Ben, Kris, Kenny, Will and Becca) and the Pt Loma Kemps (Kevin, Sonya and Emerson).

May you have a wonderful and restful Christmas celebration with the people you love.

It may be Duncan or Ostrander or Lodahl, Hunerdosse or Michels or Kitahara or Paulsen or Schwetz or Dibbs or one of many who've joined our family circle. Or it may well be that we've adopted you. Whatever your name, you're welcome here. Click on the links. You'll soon conclude - we are blessed. Glad you stopped by. Feel free to leave a comment.
