Note from Kristen Dan re: her Mom

Kristen added this great comment on Monday night 3/30/09 to my LeaderFOCUS article…

Comment:
Thank you so much for writing so many great comments about my mom.  I just wanted to give everyone praying for her an update.  She is “shuffling” around, when needed with help.  From what my dad has told me, they are planning on making the 6 hour trek home tomorrow.  The medicine seems to be making her a little sick, but she is holding in there.   Luckily, I teach at a year round school so I will be on spring break for the next 2 weeks.  I am ready to be at her call when needed!

Thank you for all of your prayers.

Weekend in Mammoth

While Lorey’s mishap certainly colored our time away, we had a terrific time in a rented condo with some close friends – Larry and Lorey Dan, Dave and Christi Steven, Steve and Kristin Mayberry – Carolyn and me.  Carolyn got the day off on Friday.  We took a leisurely drive up the back side of the Sierras.  Here are some photos…

Got this note from Larry today…

Lorey did pretty well in physical therapy today, but we’ve all decided
it would be best for her to spend one more night in the hospital. We
expect to hit the road tomorrow morning.

Thanks so much to all of you for being the best friends in the whole
world. Of course, now we’re spoiled and will expect this kind of
treatment ALL the time.

Saturday Ride through the Back Bay

Just got back from a great ride with Dave Steven.  We covered about 54 miles… and I have a new gizmo – an iPhone application that uses the GPS feature to track out route.  I slowed Dave down a little bit… he rode my pace.  We’re signed up for the Wildflower Century next month, so we need to get some miles in.  Check it out – here’s a GOOGLE MAP.

Kenny’s First Recital

Last Sunday, we gathered at Hillside Community Church for Kenny’s debut as a budding pianist.  Grandma Bette was there, along with Grandpa John, Auntie Judith and Uncle Earl from British Columbia.  It was, perhaps, the most photographed rendition of Lamb at School (Mary had a little lamb) ever.

We are very proud of Kenny.  Check out the video, and you’ll see why.

Welcome to the family page

Here's where I post the stuff that I want to share with family. That's a significant number of people, come to think of it. But your name may not be Kemp. It may be Duncan or Ostrander or Lodahl, Hunerdosse or Michels or Kitahara or Paulsen or Schwetz or Dibbs or one of many who've joined our family circle. Or it may well be that we've adopted you. Whatever your name, you're welcome here. Click on the links. You'll soon conclude - we are blessed. Glad you stopped by. Feel free to leave a comment.
