Carolyn and I rode 20.5 miles on Father’s Day… starting at Santiago Canyon College, along Santiago Canyon Road past Irvine Lake and then down the bike trail through Lake Forest to Biola’s extension campus in Laguna Hills. We were on the bikes for about two and a half hours. Carolyn’s a stud!

Happy Father’s Day
CBS Sunday Morning did a terrific piece on our President’s role as a father – and his passion to encourage the same in others. Take a couple of minutes and watch it… warning – you may have to watch a commercial first.
Family Portrait
It was a goal for Carolyn. We had the entire family here for the week… and at Grandma Lorry’s house, we gathered for a rare moment of all-in-one-place and photograph. Thanks to a patient Uncle Greg, and lots of coaxing aunts, uncles and cousins behind the camera, we managed a shot. This is the best one from a memory card filled with proofs. The one missing family member is Candy’s husband and Noah’s and Amelia’s daddy – Jamie. I’ve patched him into the second version of the family portrait.
NOTE: All three, Kris, Candace and Sonya, are expecting. That’ll take the grandchild count from seven to ten. My my.
40th Anniversary Dinner
Our kids treated us to a wonderful dinner at Yves’ Bistro in Anaheim Hills. It was an evenving to remember – all adults, no kids (thanks to the child care crew which included Hanna, Alex, Bryan, Eddie, Karin, Vonnie, Greg and Mom). It takes a village.
What a week…
As of this post, I am an Arrow alum, a graduate of the Arrow Leadership Development program. I am greateful for the opportunity and even more, grateful for the new, deep and strong relationship with this collection of high level leaders serving Jesus and his Kingdom all over the world.
There is much more to share, and I will, but for now, take a look at a fine collection of photographs from the week. It will give you a look at the fantastic campus of the Barnabas Conference Center. We had magnificent weather all week long.
PHOTO COLLECTION: COMPLIMENTS OF FIRST RATE PHOTOGRAPHER AND FELLOW ARROW ALUM – DATHAN BROWN
Thank you, Dathan. Nice work!
Greetings from Keats
The twenty-four Arrow Leaders have gathered. We have picture perfect weather. It was like a reunion when we met first at the airport and then on the dock at Horseshoe Bay for the Water Taxi ride to Barnabas Conference Center.
Jared and Stacy have been terrific. I enjoyed my time with them a lot. We’ll be together again on the weekend and hop on an airplane back to California and Tyler’s wedding. I’ll also get some time with my long-time friend Doug on Friday.
I took my turn to share some thoughts on the weekend with my fellow leaders. We were asked to some up with a single word to describe out state of mind. I came up with the word “rich.” Here’s what I said:
